Our Mission Statement

At Kingsteignton Veterinary Group we are committed to giving our patients and their owners the best personal and clinical experience locally.  We believe that the health and happiness of your pet is gained through the dedication, conscientiousness, compassion and teamwork of our staff, and in partnership with you, as their owner.

Ours Values:-

  • Care - We will always care for your pets the same as we would our own pets and always treat both pets and their owners, with respect, compassion, dedication and commitment.
  • Experienced/Highly Qualified - We have a highly experienced and exceptionally skilled Veterinary Surgeons, each with a different area of professional interest within veterinary medicine.  In turn, they are assisted by highly qualified and experienced veterinary nurses and a team of experienced receptionists.  This means that we can offer animals a team member who is expertly suited to meet their specific need.
  • Quality - We believe that a high quality service is what you and your pet deserve, and we only use high quality pharmaceuticals and vaccines, as these provide the better treatment than cheaper alternatives.  We don't aim to be the cheapest, but we do aim to be the best.
  • Dedication - We promise that all our staff has your pets' best interests at the heart of everything we do.  Working within the veterinary industry is not a job, it's a vocation, and we all have a passion for the animals that we care for.
  • Technology - We believe in offering the same range of diagnostic options which are available to us as humans.  We have invested in high quality equipment, so that we are able to give you a clearer diagnosis for your pets, and at the same time making anaesthesia be the safest it can be.
  • Personal - We strive to be the best we can, both as a practice and as individuals.  As professional individuals we are continually learning new knowledge and skills to improve. As a practice we have volunteered ourselves to be rated by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), and we are proud that they have awarded us with Small Animal status.  We promise to listen to you on how we can improve our services and welcome your feedback.
  • Transparency - We promise that we will keep you fully informed on what treatments your pet needs and why we are recommending them.  We will always explain our charges to you, and help you find solutions in difficult situations.  We provide an open door policy on practice tours should you wish to visit, as we are genuinely proud of what we do and our facilities.
  • Community - We endeavour to be as much a part of Kingsteignton, Bovey Tracey and Chudleigh as its people are to us.  We actively get involved in community projects and events and use it as a way of giving back to the communities which have supported us.

Past Partners

The practice has always been in private ownership and many of our long term clients remember partners of the past coming to the homes and farms when they were children. We are very proud of our long history and share below some details of the old partners:

David Baldwin(1990-2014)

After 24 years of hard work, David Baldwin, our Senior Veterinary Surgeon, decided to retire.  David was a familiar face in Chudleigh where he lives, and ran the branch surgery there. He was also our leading farm animal Veterinarian, and served our Farming Clients for many years.  It will be difficult to fill his shoes, but we wish him all the best for the future.  He writes:

“As you may know, I am retiring on medical advice.  I would like to thank all our clients for allowing me to treat your animals for the past 24 years.  I take away so many great memories with me, and I know I will miss the challenge (but not the nights on call !?!), and the great pleasure my career has offered.

I would like to wish you, your animals and Kingsteignton Vets all the very best for the future”  David Baldwin

Mr. Kay Rumford

Many of the locals remember the practice from years ago, being Rumford, Bond and Baldwin.
