Head Veterinary Nurse -  38 hours per week

Fancy being our new Head Vet Nurse?

We are looking for a new Head Vet Nurse to come and be part of our nursing team.

Must be able to work 38 hours a week, including some evenings and weekends.  With responsibility for the day to day running of the nursing team.  Responsibilities include overseeing the veterinary nurses and general assistants, nursing duties, nursing rotas, overseeing clinical coaches, practice standards, servicing of clinical equipment, work experience and some HR duties in conjunction with the Practice Manager and having an active part within the management team, helping to make and shape the future of the practice.

Must have at least 3 years experience post RVN and have a proven leadership background.

Assistant Veterinary Surgeon - 25 - 40 hours per week

We are looking for an enthusiastic full time or part time small animal vet to join our friendly team, here in the heart of Devon.  Our 3 branches are beautifully located between Dartmoor and the South Devon Coast.

Having served our local community for over 100 years, providing pets and their owners, exceptionally high standards of patient and customer care.

We are open to applicants for both full time and part time hours, but would need to work a minimum of 25 hours.

We offer a competitive salary, generous CPD budget and a real opportunity to grow and become the vet you want to be, awaits you.  Working between 2 and 5 days per week (depending on what you require) but including a 1:8 OOH and weekend rota is essential.  New Graduates a through to certificate holders are welcome to apply.  Come and meet our fantastic team, and see our facilities for yourself.

We frequently have students with us during vacations and welcome applications from student vets and nurses. To stand the best chance of getting a placement please give us plenty of notice. Unfortunately we are unable to provide accommodation for students.

Do you want to work with animals?

Lots of people want to be a vet or a vet nurse but it isn’t always easy to get into vet school, or get placements at nurse training practices.

We want to support future vets and vet nurses, so we work with local schools and colleges to ensure young people are better placed for the world of work (with the necessary skills and motivation) and that students of veterinary science are given the opportunity to fully understand the day-to-day aspects of their chosen career.

We accept applications from people looking to undertake work experience who are in full-time education and are applying via an approved scheme.

  • For school work experience the application for the placement must come via the school and not from the individual.
  • If you are looking for experience at weekends or school holidays please write to us with the dates you are looking for.

We are always keen to provide the opportunity to those who desire to gain experience in a veterinary practice, but as you can understand we are often over-subscribed, especially during the summer term and vacations. Many thanks for your understanding.
