Prevent fly strike in rabbits.
A very common problem, that often proves to be fatal.
The maggots not only eat the live flesh, but they release toxins that cause the rabbits organs to shut down.
Check your rabbits bottom daily for any dirt, faeces or urine.
Feed a good quality dry food to prevent upset stomachs.
Reduce their food and keep them slim (prevents them grooming themselves properly).
Keep their cages clean especially during the warmer months.
We have products available that can deter, flies and prevent their eggs from hatching into maggots.
Carol Dawson wins award at "Vets Oscars" 2010
On Thursday 8th April, deep in the centre of Birmingham, our Head Receptionist Carol Dawson scooped the coveted prize of "Receptionist of the Year" as sponsered by Petplan. Having been selected from a high number of nominated entries, she was both surprised and houred to have been chosen.
A few weeks previously, after Carol had been selected to be one of the finalists, she had to play host to a film crew who came to Kingsteignton to watch her in action for a film clip to be shown on the awards night.
We are understandably very proud of Carol.
